Dick Goddard
Dick Goddard has served as the chief meteorologist at WJW TV8 since 1966. He forecasts the weather Monday–Friday on the 5, 6 and 10 o'clock editions of Fox8 News. National surveys by Herb Altman Research have twice named Goddard as the most popular local television weatherperson in America. In 2001, Ohio Magazine named him Best Meteorologist. Born in Akron and a graduate of Green High School in southern Summit County, Goddard received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Kent State University in 1960, following his discharge from the Air Force. While at KSU Dick worked for 5 years with the U.S. Weather Bureau broadcasting on-air weather reports. He became the on-air meteorologist at KYW-TV 3 (now WKYC) in Cleveland in 1961. A self-proclaimed football nut from Massillon, Goddard has been a statistician for the Cleveland Browns for the last 32 years. He lives with his wife, Amber, in Medina. He is also the author of Dick Goddard's Weather Guide for Northeast Ohio.
